I recollect the issue was related to a problems with SMB iii.0 on netapp eight.2.1

Is anyone else having bug with Windows x Tech Preview getting to NetApp CIFS shares?

Aye, I can't access my shares anymore from the Jan TP. Tried both update from previous build too equally fresh install..

Rolling back resolves this only I'm going back to 8.1 every bit I'm non going to go through x amount of trial and error. I'll exist back when I know this is resolved although I may merely go out completely and wait for the official release.

And we were doing and then well...

short: jan build will make authentication attempt if protocl Level is >=smb2.

Workarounds:

ane) Change registry in installed january build to HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters\AllowInsecureGuestAuth to i

2) Fix protocol Level to smb1 on NAS

3) asking authentiction on the NAS

If some MS responsables read this:

The actualization Modify that authentication will now be almost mandatory could exist a breaker, as a lot of People have NAS configs with These Settings (>=SMB2 and public Access).

enforcing authentication is ok in a professional Environment, but is it really needed in a private Environment?

Add

AllowInsecureGuestAuth

to

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters\

and ready to 1 (DWORD)
