Step 1
Before replacing the earpiece speaker of your Galaxy S9, you must turn off your phone for safety reasons.
To do this, press the power button for a few seconds and click on « turn off ».
Step 2
Before removing the rear glass of your Galaxy S9, you need to heat it for 1 to 2 minutes with a hairdryer.
The glass is very well glued. During the following steps don't hesitate to heat up the rear side again if you feel any resistance, to avoid breaking the glass.
Step 3
When the rear glass is hot enough, insert the iSesamo in the lower-right space of the phone to open it.
Then insert a pick in the gap created.
Step 4
Slide the nylon spudger in the lower right space of the phone, then gently go up to peel off the right side of the glass.
Repeat this process on the top part of the glass.
Then on the left side and the lower part.
Step 5
Grasp and gently remove the rear glass.
Note: don't forget to remove the opening pick if it is still stuck on the glass.
Step 6
The rear glass is now removed.
Step 7
Remove the 10 cruciform screws circled in red securing the NFC antenna.
Step 8
Insert the iSesamo in the top-right part then gently pry up in order to unclip the top part of the NFC antenna.
Grasp the antenna and remove it.
Step 9
The Galaxy S9 NFC antenna is now removed.
Step 10
Using the nylon spudger, disconnect the battery.
Step 11
To remove the S9 battery more easily, we are going to disassemble the external speaker.
With the cruciform screwdriver, remove the 5 screws circled in red securing the external speaker.
Step 12
Unclip the external speaker with the nylon spudger.
Grasp it with tweezers and remove it.
Step 13
The Galaxy S9 speaker is now removed.
Step 14
Using the hairdryer, heat up the lower area of the screen, on the other side of the battery for 15 to 20 seconds.
This will soften the glue securing the battery.
Step 15
Insert a SOSav plastic card in the space between the frame and the battery then very gently pry up to peel off the battery.
Be very gentle during this process so you don't damage nor pierce the battery!
This can take some time, depending on the glue bond.
Grasp the battery and remove it.
Step 16
The Galaxy S9 battery is now removed.
Step 17
Using the nylon spudger, disconnect the front camera/iris sensor then grasp it with tweezers.
Remove it.
Step 18
The Galaxy S9 front camera/iris sensor is now removed.
Step 19
With the nylon spudger, disconnect the light/proximity sensor cable and then the screen cable.
Step 20
With the nylon spudger, disconnect the first two interconnect cables.
Step 21
Then disconnect the GSM interconnect cable from the logic board thanks to the nylon spudger.
Step 22
Remove the cruciform screw circled in red securing the logic board.
Step 23
Then insert the nylon spudger on the top left part of the logic board and very gently pry up to rotate it to a 90° angle.
Step 24
Keep using the nylon spudger to disconnect the dock connector.
Remove the logic board.
Step 25
Using the hairdryer, heat the earpiece speaker for 5 to 10 seconds to remove it more easily.
Step 26
Slide the iSesamo in the gap between the earpiece speaker and the frame, then gently pry up to peel it off.
Remove the earpiece speaker.
Step 27
The earpiece speaker of your Galaxy S9 is now removed.
You can replace it with a new one if needed.
